How It Works
Ohio State Buckeyes vs Penn State Nittany Lions — November 2, 2024
20–13
About This Game
Ohio State's top-ranked defense made a statement in Happy Valley, controlling the line of scrimmage and forcing key mistakes in a 20-13 victory over Penn State. The Buckeyes' opening drive set the tone with a Ryan Barker field goal, then a lightning-quick defensive strike—Zion Tracy's 31-yard interception return for a touchdown—built an early 10-0 lead that Penn State couldn't overcome. Will Howard orchestrated precision drives throughout, connecting with Emeka Egbuka and Brandon Inniss for touchdown passes in the first half to extend Ohio State's advantage to 17-10 by the third quarter. While Penn State scratched back with two Ryan Barker field goals to inch within four points, the Buckeyes' defense tightened when it mattered most. A late Jayden Fielding field goal with 10:13 remaining in the fourth quarter provided the insurance Ohio State needed to escape with the win. The 987 yards of total offense masked a game defined by Ohio State's relentless defensive pressure and Penn State's inability to answer when momentum shifted.
