How It Works
West Virginia Mountaineers vs Baylor Bears — November 25, 2023
34–31
About This Game
This was an offensive explosion that nearly saw Baylor mount an improbable second-half comeback. West Virginia's Garrett Greene was the orchestrator early, connecting with Traylon Ray for a 30-yard touchdown on the opening drive, then adding a rushing touchdown later in the half to help build a commanding 27-14 lead by halftime. Michael Hayes' pair of field goals kept the Mountaineers rolling as they controlled the first half with precision passing and timely scoring.
But Baylor refused to go quietly. The Bears' defense tightened in the second half, and special teams magic—two kickoff return touchdowns by Richard Reese—kept them within striking distance. Sawyer Robertson led a second-half offensive charge, finding Ketron Jackson Jr. for a score, then Dominic Richardson punched it in on the ground to give Baylor its only lead at 28-27. Isaiah Hankins' 39-yard field goal stretched that advantage to 31-27 with just minutes remaining.
West Virginia's answer came in the final 23 seconds. Greene, who had been the game's most dominant force, found Jahiem White in the end zone for the game-winning touchdown, sealing a thrilling 34-31 victory. It was a showcase where neither defense could fully contain the opposing offense—West Virginia's efficient drives and Baylor's late-game firepower created a back-and-forth battle. This game's 21 drives are captured in custom Gameprint wall art.
